"Hillary sent me..."
We have just learnt that Hillary Clinton announced today a new grassroots effort to get her supporters to fall in behind one-time rival Barack Obama.
“As we continue to read the headlines about our troubled economy, the stakes of this election only get higher. Today I am asking all of you to hit the phones, hit the road, and spread the word that we must elect Barack Obama President and we must send a filibuster-proof majority to Congress,” Clinton said in a statement.
“This is a call to action. We all have a role. And there is not a moment to lose,” added Clinton, who is attending a private event today in Boston. “Tell them that Hillary sent you.”
The effort is being organized by Clinton’s political action committee, in conjunction with Obama's campaign and other Democratic campaigns.
This morning, there will be precisions available at her PAC's website, where there will be information on canvassing, phone banking, blogging, and other activities.
Each weekend, the effort will focus on a different battleground state, starting Sept. 27-28 in New Hampshire. Pennsylvania is scheduled for Oct. 12-13. She won both states during the primaries.
To be honest, I think that Hillary exaggerates a little. She is asking too much ! How could her supporters, although they love her and want to please her, dedicate their time and their energy to campaigning for a man they despise and consider unfit to become their president ? For them, it will be impossible to do what she asks them to do !
I fear this grassroot effort, which is in fact a "rescue operation" to save Obama, may be a flop...
Democrats must really be in a panic, and they are doing their best to "put Hillary to work", as they have not managed to convince her husband....
Poor Hillary !
Once again, she plays the good soldier for Obama...
If you continue to do everything Obama tells you to do, you are going to sink with him in November.
So please, do like Bill : distance yourself from this doomed campaign...
